Who we are
Household Finance is a private app run by Jason Hoke for household members who are invited to use it. Contact: jhoke722@gmail.com.
What we collect
Account details you give us: your name, email address, and login security settings such as two-step verification.
Financial data you choose to connect: when you link a bank or card through Plaid, we receive account names, the last 4 digits of account numbers, balances, and transactions. We never see or store your bank username or password.
Information you enter: tags, notes, goals, and plan details.
How we use it
Only to run the app for you: show your accounts and transactions, split shared expenses with your household, compute balances, and track your goals. We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone except the service providers below.
Who can see it
You see your own accounts. Your household sees only what is shared: transactions on shared accounts, and items you tag as shared (merchant, date, amount, category, and note only).
Your employer never sees your data, even if they offered you this app.
These rules are enforced by the database itself, not just by the screens.
Service providers
Plaid connects your bank accounts (see Plaid's End User Privacy Policy at plaid.com/legal). Supabase stores the data. Vercel hosts the website. Each provider only processes data to deliver its service to us.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Bank connection tokens are encrypted again by the app and used only on our servers. Two-step verification is required to sign in.
Keeping and deleting your data
You can disconnect any account at any time. We stop receiving its data right away, and you can delete its stored transactions. You can ask us to delete your account and data, and we will do so within 30 days.
Your requests
Email jhoke722@gmail.com to get a copy of your data, correct it, or delete it. We respond within 30 days.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and tell you in the app.
